World Toilet Day 2019

It might seem a bit strange to have a World Toilet Day but this annual event is held each year to highlight the importance of having access to toilet facilities. Unfortunately 1 in 3 people on the planet aren’t able to use a clean, safe, private toilet and this is something which has a serious impact upon the health and welfare of communities.

With this in mind, we thought we’d take the opportunity to highlight the importance of toilet hygiene, whilst raising awareness of how important it is to be able to use a loo that’s clean and working as it should be.

Keep your toilets clean with cleaning supplies from Alpha consumables

We all know the importance of toilet hygiene and whether you’re responsible for cleaning in a childcare facility, a hospital or a care home, it’s vital to ensure good cleaning practice. Toilet seats and handles in particular can, if not cleaned properly, harbour dangerous germs and bacteria which are easily spread from one person to another. Colour coded cleaning is something we often talk about in our blog posts, mainly because if offers a simple yet highly effective way to prevent the spread of germs from toilets to other areas such as sinks and taps. Using a specific set of coloured cleaning equipment for use in one area – red for toilets for example – means that germs and bacteria don’t have as much opportunity to spread. The colour coded cleaning system is easy to use as cleaning teams have an easy way to remember which set of tools they need to use.

Here at Alpha Consumables we also supply a wide range of toilet cleaning equipment and products; from anti-bacterial sprays, wipes and liquids, through to cloths, toilet brushes, gloves and more. Our products are available to buy in bulk, with savings available for larger orders. We’ll deliver what you need quickly and efficiently, freeing up your time to let you get on with what you do best.

Toilet cleaning is never going to be fun but next time you’re cleaning the loo, spare a thought for those who don’t have access to one…
